Target Audience: Moderate Industry Knowledge
Come learn about how one academic library partnered with a local League of Women Voters to host a registration and information event during what was the most contentious presidential election in recent history. Students, especially those who attend school outside of their state of permanent residency, are often unsure about how to register, whether they can vote locally, or what the voting process entails. This talk will give a broad introduction to how the library prepared, advertised, and implemented a voter registration event, and is accompanied by a poster presentation (Engage, Educate, Empower (Part 2): Facilitating Student Voter Participation) that offers a more granular description of the process, successes, and lessons learned.
