4:30 PM – 5:00 PM ET
Target Audience: New or Early in Industry
In a world faced with increasingly complex challenges, many researchers feel a civic responsibility to find practical solutions to these problems. This talk will explore how altmetrics can effectively connect research to real-world priorities like the Sustainable Development Goals, and advance this mission. The session will examine how new platforms and technologies are expanding and enriching our understanding of research impact, as well as highlighting knowledge exchange pathways, and opportunities to embed scholarly insights into real world contexts. It will focus specifically on Overton Index, the world's largest database of policy documents and grey literature, which helps researchers and institutions to understand and demonstrate the impact of their work on policy decisions, as well as how they contribute to SDGs and societal well-being.
