After having three other careers, Isabel Altamirano became a librarian in 2013 by graduating from LSU with the MLIS degree. She joined the ALA student chapter in 2010 and became a full member after her graduation. She has worked as a STEM librarian at the University of Texas at Tyler, Georgia Tech, and is now at Auburn University in Alabama. She is the subject specialist for Chemistry, Chemical Engineeing, and Communications & Journalism. She also teaches a one-credit class chemistry literature class once a year.
