In response to telework and a shift in strategic priorities, the Library and Archives staff at the American Psychological Association (APA) redefined their roles. Utilizing their professional training and institutional knowledge, they joined the new Science Knowledge and Expertise Office, which supports the dissemination of advanced psychological science and promotes rigorous, equitable research. The transition involved new job responsibilities while maintaining traditional library and archive services. This journey underscores the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in new roles, showing how traditional skills can be repurposed to meet evolving organizational needs. This talk will share strategies, challenges, and successes, offering inspiration for organizations and professionals facing similar transitions.
